Home charging done properly: the right charger for your car and tariff, a genuine load assessment, tidy installation and full certification, by OZEV-approved local installers.
Surrey has taken to electric cars faster than almost anywhere in the country, and a home charger is what makes ownership effortless: plug in at night, leave every morning with a full “tank” at a fraction of public charging cost. The installation, though, is real electrical work: earthing arrangements, PEN fault protection, load calculations and DNO notification. It deserves an electrician, not a man-with-a-van from a marketplace.
Supply capacity, fuse board condition, cable route and parking arrangement, so the quote is accurate and the install is boring, in the best way. We install to Section 722 of BS 7671 (the EV-specific rules), fit chargers with built-in open-PEN protection, notify your network operator (DNO), and hand over a certificate plus a working app on your phone before we leave.
The solar-owner’s favourite, charges from your panels’ surplus. British-made, hugely popular across Surrey.
Sleek design, excellent app, solid value, a favourite for style-conscious installs.
Smart-tariff royalty: pairs brilliantly with Intelligent Octopus and similar tariffs to charge at the cheapest half-hours automatically.
Already chosen a unit, or had one supplied with the car? We install all major brands, and we’ll tell you honestly if we’d choose differently.
Not sure? Tell us your car, tariff and whether you have solar; we’ll recommend in the survey, brand-agnostically.
Call Us
Usually from photos and a short call; complex properties get a visit.
Charger, cabling, any board work, all stated.
Typically half a day: dedicated circuit from your consumer unit, neat external routing, charger commissioned and app configured.
Electrical Installation Certificate issued; network operator notified. Nothing left for you to file.
Staff and fleet charging for Surrey businesses, supply capacity assessment, load management so chargers never trip the building, and OZEV workplace grant guidance.
If you have (or plan) solar panels, chargers like Zappi divert surplus generation into your car, genuinely free miles. On smart tariffs, scheduled charging at off-peak rates can cut per-mile cost to a fifth of petrol. We’ll set both up as part of commissioning, not leave you with a manual.
Car-dealer “free installs” and national subcontract networks optimise for volume: shortest route, thinnest cable, no board assessment, gone by lunch. We optimise for the next 15 years, and we’re twenty minutes away when you want the unit moved, upgraded or serviced.
7kW is right for almost every home: it fills a typical EV overnight and works on a standard single-phase supply. 22kW needs three-phase power, which most Surrey homes don’t have, and most cars can’t take 22kW AC anyway.
Tethered (built-in cable) is more convenient day-to-day; untethered (socket only) is neater and future-proof for connector changes. We fit both, it’s genuinely personal preference.
Always, it’s a legal requirement of connection, and we file it as part of every job. Chases are filled and sanded as standard; full re-plastering and decoration can be included in your quote if you’d like one point of responsibility.
With a solar-compatible unit like Zappi, yes, surplus generation goes into the car instead of the grid. Tell us your inverter setup at survey.
For homeowners in houses, generally no; for flats, rented homes and landlords, yes via the OZEV chargepoint grant. We’ll check your case and do the paperwork.
Sometimes, a charger is a large continuous load and needs a properly protected way on a healthy board. The survey tells us; if an upgrade’s needed it’s quoted openly, and you were probably due it anyway.
Usually half a day, including commissioning and app setup.
